2024 Summer School

We hosted our first Christian Flourishing summer school in June 2024 and left with a deeper understanding of human flourishing and its integrative perspective of psychology, public health, and Christian theology. Through keynote speakers, plenary sessions, and a workshop, Flourishing within Christian Communities was addressed and researchers, practitioners, and graduate students were able to expand their knowledge, network with experts, and present their own work. While each day was filled with rich presentations and conversations, see some of our highlights below:

  • Dr. William Hathaway spoke on “Christian Flourishing: Towards an Abundant Life Framework”
  • Dr. Tyler VanderWeele shared about “Measuring Human Flourishing Globally: Early Findings and Implications for Religious Communities”
  • Dr. Jennifer Ripley spoke on “Religious/Spiritual Care Competencies in Clinical Practice and Settings”
  • Dr. Eric Jones moderated a panel on “Christian Leadership to Change the World” with Dr. Tyler VanderWeele, Dr. Byron Johnson, and Dr. William Hathaway
  • Dr. Linda Baum moderated a panel on “Flourishing in Practice” with Dr. Ev Worthington, Dr. Jen Ripley, and Dr. Rachel Stephens
